It's soooo good, you want to eat it straight from the oven ... but save yourself the burnt tongue, and wait 30 minutes please, you will enjoy it more.

1 c  flour
3/4 c  sugar
2 TBLS  cocoa
1/4 tsp  salt
1/2 c  milk
2 TBLS  shortening or butter, melted
1 c  chopped nuts
1 c  brown sugar
1/4 c  cocoa
1 3/4 c hot water
Mix together flour, sugar, 2 TBLS cocoa, baking powder and salt.  Blend in milk and melted shortening or butter.  Stir in nuts.  Pour into ungreased pan.

Stir together brown sugar and 1/4 c cocoa, sprinkle over batter.

Pour hot water over batter.

Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

I love this reciepe, every time you make it, it's like a science experiment.  The hot water blends with the cocoa and brown sugar to make pudding, and as it bakes, the batter rises, and swallows the pudding.  So the pudding ends up on the bottom, and the cake on top.

This is also good cold, for breakfast ... LOL
